Description
In this week's teaching from Exodus 20, guest speaker Josh Gardner walks us through the Ten Commandments not as a list of rules, but as an invitation into the flourishing life God created us for.
Before God tells Israel what to do, He reminds them of what He has already done. He rescued them from slavery. He brought them to Himself. The relationship comes before the rules. The Ten Commandments aren't a way to prove ourselves worthy of God's presence. They show us who God is, what we were created for, and ultimately how much we need Jesus.
The good news of the gospel is that Jesus has done what we could never do. He fulfilled the law, made a way for us to draw near, and gives us His Spirit to form in us the kind of life we could never manufacture on our own.
