Bonus: Interview with governor candidate Bernadette Wilson

Voting in Alaska’s primary election ends in just a few days on Tuesday, Aug. 18. And to help Alaskans sift through the crowded ballot in the race for governor, we’re bringing you interviews with some of the top candidates in the race. Republican Bernadette Wilson is running her first campaign for elected office. But she’s no stranger to politics. She’s been a radio host, a campaign operative and a leader of conservative groups like the Alaska Policy Forum and the local office of Americans for Prosperity. Wilson is in a crowded lane of conservatives in the nonpartisan, pick-one primary, which will narrow the field from 17 candidates to four. And Wilson told Alaska Public Media’s Eric Stone she’s running because she sees the state stagnating.
