Bonus: Interview with governor candidate Shelley Hughes

Alaska Public Media state government reporter Eric Stone has another in our series of interviews with this year's gubernatorial hopefuls. Today it's Republican Shelley Hughes, a former member of the state House and Senate. She spent more than a decade representing communities in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough, most recently as a state senator from Palmer. Hughes has lived all over the state, from Hoonah to Fort Yukon. She said that experience shapes her view of the best way forward for Alaska.
