To the Unloved Backstory: Believing God Loves You

I can vividly remember what it felt like to hear about God’s love for me and not believe it was true. When I would try to pray, I felt awkward. If God had been a person sitting in front of me, I wouldn’t have been able to look Him in the eyes. To me, I was messed up… a lost cause. It took God a while to get through to me, but eventually He did, and once I believed His love was true, deep, and UNEARNED, no one could take it from me. This is from the first chapter of my story, To the Unloved, which will be released on January 25th. Please forgive the background noise, this was filmed outside in a parking lot I used to go to pray when I was still trapped in abuse. It was profound to return to this place where I was broken after God has made me whole! Here is a favorite verse of mine from scripture, and a big theme throughout my upcoming book, To the Unloved: “For it was only through this wonderful grace that we believed in him. Nothing we did could ever earn this salvation, for it was the gracious gift from God that brought us to Christ! So no one will ever be able to boast, for salvation is never a reward for good works or human striving.
