Episode 2 - Kids and Electronics

In this episode Som Sikdar and Lonnie Beck discuss the increasing use of electronics and social media by both kids adults.  They discuss how kids are being introduced to electronic devices and platforms at younger and younger ages.  Som talks about his kindergartner is already required to do math "homework" on an electronic device and how they have required work on iPads at school.  While use of electronic devices isn't inherently bad, it's the nature of the modern application that is dangerous.  Social media has become ubiquitous and synonymous with electronic device usage.  And, social media has a very addictive trait...it sucks people in. When it sucks in young people, those without fully developed brains and sense of self it can be very dangerous.  Take a listen...
