Education has become a subject of many divisions in recent years, and most if not all of those divisions are being fueled and stoked by right wing interests that want to turn our schools into corporate profit centers. Our guest today is Mary Cathryn Ricker, Executive Director of the Albert Shanker institute, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to three themes: excellence in public education, unions as advocates for quality, and freedom of association in the public life of democracies.
