The songs of the new release, Before and After, give us Love that we can use. The wars and mass extinction seem to mock the tenderness of Love, but the message is simple-- Love is the only way to survive. Working with his collaborator Lou Adler, Neil Young tells a hundred stories with this record, some achingly personal and many universal. Neil and Daryl Hannah remind us that with Love, we can risk our life to save others’ lives, which is the heart of any revolution for change. W.H.
