Description
For the past several weeks I’ve been working on a big project: getting my house of 14 years ready to sell. That has meant decluttering, repairing things, rearranging rooms, staging the house, and honestly doing a lot of thinking along the way.I expected to learn some lessons from the process, and it turns out there have been quite a few. In this episode I share ten of them — lessons about letting things go, handling change, accepting feedback, simplifying life, and learning to sit in the waiting place. Some of these lessons came from the practical work of preparing a home. Others came from the emotions that come with change.Either way, they’ve been meaningful reminders about life and growth, and I hope they help you reflect on your own season as well.In this episode I talk about:• Letting go of things and shifting your mindset when decluttering• The emotional side of big life changes• Doing your best and letting things be imperfect• Learning how to receive feedback• Facing worst-case scenarios and moving forward anyway• Simplifying meals, schedules, and responsibilities when life is full• Appreciating the help others give• The importance of community• Seeing new possibilities when you rearrange things• Learning how to live in the waiting place
