Description
Jim and Marsha met in Atlanta, GA, where Jim was a teacher and Marsha a student at a local college. They married in 1971, and less than a year later they moved to southeast Texas, where their marriage began to deteriorate. "Jim's career was his mistress, says Marsha. "No," says Jim. "It was worse than that...my career was my god."
What followed was fifteen years of miserable marriage. Then, following a dramatic reconciliation in 1986, they began putting their marriage back together. Though they were reconciled, there was a lot of work to be done on the road from reconciliation to restoration.
Their story about how God worked in their lives to bring reconciliation and restoration is God's Blueprint for Marriage. God's Blueprint details how God brought the two of them into a deeper relationship with God and with each other.
Jim and Marsha use God's Blueprint for Marriage as the foundation for premarital counseling to help newlyweds establish a strong relationship with each other, by applying the principles, which include making Jesus Christ the Lord of their marriage. They also use God's Blueprint as the foundation for pastoral counseling with couples having marriage problems. They have presented God's Blueprint for Marriage in seminar format in the United States and South America. And they are turning God's Blueprint into a book to be published soon.
Jim and Marsha devote time to their marriage ministry, and their missions work in Peru, where they have a very strong ministry presence.
Jim and Marsha's goal is to share God's Blueprint for Marriage through seminars and workshops, as well as in pastoral counseling.
